The Current Between Us by Kindle Alexander **Review, Author Interview And Giveaway**

Kindle Alexander is coming! Kindle Alexander is coming! *happy dance* The ever lovely and talented Kindle Alexander is coming by today to do an author interview with me. I'll be asking her some hard hitting questions....okay not really but it sounds better when I say it like that, instead of studdering like an idiot as I gush on and on about how much I love her and her books. Before she gets her though I'm going to let you in on what I thought about her newest book The Current Between Us!

Review:
I fuckin' loved it! I normally tend to read quickly, not because I'm in a hurry but because that's just how I read, but with this book I had to take my time. It was just that good! I love the main characters Trent and Gage, the romance that blooms between them is so sweet, especially since it's love at first sight....okay so it's lust then love but you get where I'm going with this. Plus, there are two of the cutest little kids in this book which just adds to the fun (all the parents can quiet looking at me like I'm crazy, I'm an aunt, it's fun to me cause I get to leave and go home when I've had my fill of the "fun"). This book will make you laugh and may even bring a tear to your eye. There are even some DUM DUM DUMMMMMM scenes in this book, I felt like I was "watching" a soap opera or something!! I was like, please no commericals, it just got to the good part....and then my Kindle started blinking at me saying I had a low battery!! Let me tell you, I couldn't find my charger fast enough. And the sex scenes!! *fans self* I don't want to give anything away but I have to say that I wished I was a gay man for like five minutes, they were that freakin' hot, I'm just sayin'! PLUS (and I say this only cause I ragged on Kindle about it in her last book) I didn't spot any typos!! *happy dance*  So, if you are looking for a hot, steamy, laugh out loud, feel good book then I suggest that you go to one of the websites listed below and BUY BUY BUY!!

FAVORITE QUOTE:
“I would like you to walk with me, Trent. I want the world to know I found you,” Gage to Trent

CAUTION: HOT STEAMY SEX SCENES, MAY CAUSE READER TO WANT TO BE GAY MALE FOR A NUMBER OF MINUTES!!

5 STARS

Author Interview with Kindle Alexander

*pouring a couple of glasses of sweet ice tea (cause that's just good manners and cause in the south tea ain't tea if it ain't sweet) as I get ready for Kindle to show up. When she walks in the door followed by Keagan Kruze, I eye ball him to make sure he doesn't have any knifes on him. The man is fasinated with stabbing me, especially in the ass. Grinning, I point to a corner in the kitchen where I set him up with a small table complete with a Hulk coloring book, 64 pack of crayons and a juice book. I do it to piss him off and to see him glare, he's so cute when he glares*

Me: *smiling at Kindle* Hi Kindle! Thanks for taking the time to stop by, I know you've been busy with the blog tour.

Kindle: THANK YOU very much for having me here. Its exciting to be apart of the blog and this interview!

*sitting down at the table I get my paper and pen (yep paper and pen, I'm going old school....cause I'm cool like that) ready to start jotting down her answers as I fire off questions at her*

Me: Okay first question. What made you decide to make Trent a Daddy in this book?

Kindle: It was William Levy on dancing with the stars. I watched an interview where he talked about his little three or four year old daughter being crazy. She’d run out and try to dance with him if he brought her to the studio. I liked Trent having Em. I like the idea of all the men having to deal with this strong, cute, emotional little girl.

Me: There is something about men having to deal with little girls that just makes you melt. Thong or Commando?

Kindle: Me? Panties. I know lame. Gage? Definitely commando. Trent might wear a thong if Gage asked real nice. He wouldn’t want to, but he would.

Me: *snicker* Sounds like he's wrapped around his little finger. What's your all time favorite drink with a funky name? (Example Slippery Nipple)

Kindle: Screaming Orgasm – duh.

Me: Why Chicago?

Kindle: I lived there for several years, plus I needed a place that had lots of massive downtown property for Layne Construction to own and work. And its not a million degrees for five months out of the year – like Texas. This time of year, I ALWAYS wish I still lived there!

Me: Do you pull inspiration from your real life when writing your characters? (Example character named Will is named after my cousin William)

Kindle: OH YES! I’m terrible about that. Every person is named for someone in my life – I struggle finding names. I’m sure all your names will be in my stories soon. Charla will def be my next crazy female that might have to be killed off… (HAHAHA) My father’s an Electrical Contractor, hence Trent’s profession. My writing partner is a photographer, hence the photo’s. I live in the country, was in FFA for four years…Texas Pride.

Me: LMAO! Love it! Well if and when I show up in one of your books I'm sure it'll be so tragic...oh oh oh can I get the guys to give me a long lingering kiss before I take my last breath....or at least let me cop a feel, I mean I am dying!! LMAO

(Note to Self: Asking to cop a feel of one the characters in future books gets you weird looks while author laughs their asses off)

Me: What got you started in writing M/M romance?

Kindle: Blaylock Rocke! Its true. Love him.

Me: Do you have a cover model? Can I meet him?

Kindle: Lol!  No, listen! This is important!!!!! I need you to hook me up with William Levy and Ryan McPartlin and I have free ebooks of every book I ever write for the rest of my life if anyone can get them to kiss, with tongue, at least one time with me there, or video – FROM EVERY ANGLE!

Me: LMAO! I'll see what I can do but I've been told that people frown on me threatening to "cut a bitch" if they don't do what I want and since I would soooo want every one of the books you ever write, and for free (be still my pimpin' heart), I'd definitely be threatening somebody if my charm alone didn't work (I wonder if I'd have to kidnap one of them or if they'd come willingly, Note To Self, find out how much duck tape and rope one would need to kidnap William Levy or Ryan McPartlin)

Me: *grin* What are your top 5 favorite authors? I know, it's hard to pick just five but give it a whirl

Kindle: Top five favorite. Its changed since I started reading on an ereader.
1) Avril Ashton
2) JT Cheyanne
3) GA Hauser
4) Christi Snow – I’m re-reading her right now.
5) VL Moon
6) Susan Mac Nicol

Me: How do you come up with your storyline/characters? Do you sit and think about them or do they just pop in your head and harass you?

Kindle: You know what, I love writing for this reason. You get the charries in your head for longer. I still get end of story hangover, but overall they get to be there for months and that’s awesome!

Me: Ice cream or Popsicles?

Kindle: Tofu… Kidding. Both, together.

Me: If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go and why?

Kindle: I’m lame, I’ll go anywhere as long as there is no heat. I hate the Texas heat.

*glancing at the clock I see that we've been at it for awhile and since I know she has more stops to make today, I figure I should let her get going or I'll continue to bomb bard her with questions. Plus Keagan is looking bored and as much as I enjoy torturing him, I know I'll never hear the end of it if he has to sit there much longer*

Me: Thanks again for stopping by Kindle, it was good to see you and I hope we can do this again when your next book comes out!

Kindle: Thank you Charla! I appreciate you very much!

Keagan: *Stabs Charla in her butt for making him stay in the corner*

*looking at my ass, I turn and growl at Keagan as he follows Kindle out the door* Damn it Keagan!! This was my favorite pair of pants and now there's a hole in 'em!! *Keagan flips me off over his shoulder as he slams the door shut behind him* Ass!

Below is the blurb for The Current Between Us, Author Info, and where to buy your copy of Kindle's fabulous new book!

Blurb:
Gage Synclair, international, hard-hitting investigative photojournalist, is preparing for the final special report of his career…a story of deception and murder six long years in the making. And after ten years in some of the worst parts of the world, he’s ready to settle down and open an art gallery in his hometown of Chicago. The only thing getting in his way, he needs to find a competent electrician to finish the job before his grand opening.

Trent Cooper, electrical contractor, is surprised by the last minute request for a fast-paced electrical remodel, wanting nothing more than to get his foot in the door with Layne Construction. Being gay in the construction industry isn’t easy, nor is being father to his two young adopted children. Trent keeps his life in separate zones to avoid a short circuit. But when the gallery owner propositions him on the first day, Trent can’t help but think his worlds are a little too close for comfort.

Will their high-voltage passion spark everlasting love or will their lives break the circuit between them forever?

Grand Slam by J.T. Cheyanne

Right off the bat I have to apologize to J.T. who was kind enough to gift me with a copy of her new book. Sorry it took me so long to review your book sweetie.

Now, having said that, I have to say that I very much enjoyed reading this book and can't believe I waited so long to read it! I love the characters in this book, these seemed so real that I felt like I was watching the story play out before my very eyes. This book is a funny, light hearted, romantic story about two people who despite their differences are perfect for each other. I loved the humor that each and everyone of the characters displayed through out the book, especially the kids, I laughed so hard at their antics throughout the story. I swear I think I laughed and sighed through out damn near the whole book! I loved the main characters Brock and Spencer, who despite their differences seem to compliment each other perfectly! And the love scenes *fans self* HELLO! I just have to say that you should either be alone or with the one you love when you read these cause they will definitely have you hot under the collar.

I do believe that J.T. Cheyanne has a home run *hehehe baseball humor* on her hands! I can't say enough about how great Grand Slam is! My only complaint about this book is that it wasn't long enough, I didn't want it to end, it's that good! So if you're looking for a great book that will make you laugh out load and warm your heart then this is a book that I highly recommend you read!

Note: This book contains M/M sex scenes that may cause you to break out into a sweat!

Texas Pride by Kindle Alexander

Now normally I’m not much of a contemporary romance girl but what can I say, I love a man that looks good in a pair of Wranglers! Oh and look a book about a man that looks fine as hell in Wranglers *dreamy sigh*……Sorry, had a moment but I’m back. I have to say that I very much enjoyed this book, it is definitely a must read book! Texas Pride has it all, love, drama, danger, tragedy, and sex! Kindle Alexander will have you begging for more as the romance between the main characters Kitt and Austin unfolds before your eyes! Alexander draws her readers in with her ability to paint a picture with a few words from her pen. I would give this book 4 stars out of 5, it would have been five but it’s not on paper, I love paper, I mean I like ebooks and I love my kindle but there is nothing like holding a book in your hands and being able to feel the paper as you turn the page! Another reason for the 4 stars is the grammar, now I know I have no right to point fingers cause ya’ll know I’m bad about misspellin’ and grammar myself but I’m not a published author with an editor so who gives a flying rat’s ass how I write?! And finally the third reason for the missing star is that I felt like the story should have been longer, there were some parts of the book that I thought could have been a little clearer but for the most part I found this to be a wonderful book. Anyways, ya’ll need to go out and buy this book so you can form your own opinion about it cause what I think and what you do, are two different things but I’m pretty sure that most of my followers will agree with me that this is a book well worth reading!!

WARNING: This book is a gay romance and contains M/M sex scenes

DOCTOR WHO FAQ

I LOVE LOVE LOVE DOCTOR WHO!! One of the all time best television shows since the invention of television! When I got this book, I couldn't wait to read it, matter of fact I started reading it as soon as I got to my car I was that excited about it! To say the least the more I read, the more disappointed I was. I thought this was suppose to be a book about the most FAQs about the show, not a man's "I hate Doctor Who, so I'm going to pick it apart then bitch about EVERY LITTLE THING" journal!! Dave Thompson, just let me say on behalf of all Whovians, you sir, are a DUMBASS!! The whole time I'm reading this, I just want to reach through the book and smack the hell out of the writer! I mean come on, we loyal DW followers all have our favorites and our not so favorites when it comes to the Doctors, companions, and episodes but it doesn't mean that we're going to write a book about it! So as much as I love all things Doctor Who, I feel that this book...this complete waste of paper...is not worth reading. As a matter of fact, it is not even worthy of having Doctor Who in the title!! Long live The Doctor....oh and Dave Thompson can suck it!!

OMG Pancakes! by Jim Belosic

0000Have lots of time in the mornings? Got a creative streak? Have picky eaters? Then this cook book might be the one for you. I tried to make a few of the pancakes featured in this book and I’ve got to be honest with ya’ll (something I always try to do) my pancakes SUCKED! To top it off I don’t have the time it would take to make these colorful and kid friendly pancakes, plus the kids in my life aren’t all that picky about what they eat. My Opinion Might Not Be Yours but I just don’t see the point in trying in I don’t have the time or the skill to do it. Maybe it’s because the kids will eat anything I put in front of them Smile. If you answered any of the questions above than this would be a great cookbook for you, if you didn’t well maybe you’ll know some that YOU would recommend it to.

Debbie Macomber’s Christmas Cookbook

0This is my first cookbook review so bare with me! This cookbook reminded me a lot of the show Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee on Food Network. There are decorating ideas, holiday tips, and some pretty great recipes. Now I didn’t try ever single recipe because let’s face it Suzy Homemaker I ain’t but I did chose a few and the ones I picked out turned out pretty good. I really liked this cookbook because it had some really great, colorful pictures and the recipes were fairly simple. Which was great for me because I’m one of those people that can’t really cook to save my life, I can make a few things that come out pretty good but otherwise that’s it. Anyways, if you’re like me and a lot of those words that they use in cook books and on cook shows don’t make a lot of sense to you than you’ll really appricate this cook book. Now dinner parties aren’t my thing and My Opinion Might Not Be Yours but the tips and ideas in this book sound like a lot of fun. They would probably really add a little something to any party you throw. So if you or someone you know, likes to cook and enjoys author Debbie Macomber than I suggest you go out and get this book. This is like the ultimate Christmas guide and it’ll make a great gift, to yourself or someone else.

Note: The cookie recipes in this book….AWESOME!! And several of the recipes, tips, and gift ideas are things that kids can help with! Smile

A Time For Us by Christine Holden

th_0515123757Once upon a time I use to love reading historical romances and every now and then I still do. I especially enjoyed the ones where a modern day woman would go back in time and knock a man off his self appointed pedestal. This is one of those rare time traveler romances where the woman comes forward in time to end up with a modern man. Maybe that was what made this book difficult to swallow, to me this book was a pretty big miss. Now don’t get me wrong, there were some parts of the book that were pretty decent and the facts were obviously well researched but it wasn’t a story that I would want to read ever again. As a matter of fact through out most my reading the book I wished I had a stiff drink!! I mean, damn!! I felt like I was being taken on an emotional roller coaster and I wanted to get the hell off! The heroine was pretty bright, I mean she would have to be to have accomplished what she did in the book but the hero…all I wanted to do was reach through this book, wrap my hands around his throat and shake his ass! One minute he is lovey dovey and the next he is losing his temper and yelling at her. Talk about blowing hot and cold. Who knows maybe its because I’m from the “modern” age but I’m not about to get into a man that let’s his mother dictate his life while he juggles me and some other chick, taking us all for a ride because he can’t grow a set!! Anyways, I read the whole book because like I said there were some parts that I found rather amusing. Would I recommend it….ummmm probably not. Would I read it again….let me think….NO! If you like historicals, time traveling or a bright heroine than this might be the book for you, if not than I don’t think you’d be very interested but like I always say My Opinion Might Not Be Yours.

Some Like It Kilted by Allie Mackay

9780451228932My Opinion Might Not Be Yours but I didn't really like this book as a matter of fact it was all I could do to finish the book. I've read a couple of books by Allie MacKay before and they were pretty good but this one just wasn't getting it for me. The book seemed to be all over the place, it would start to get good and then it would go off on a whole other aspect to the story. It was almost like reading the first rough draft of a story, there were lots of good ideas but it didn't have any structure or flow to it. I also was not feeling the romance or the fantasy/paranormal aspect, it wasn't really there, almost like it was just out of reach. A hint and that was it. I liked the ghosts, Scottish ghosts at that, but they seemed to be the only well developed part of the book. I liked the small amount of humor in the book and the cover of the book was pretty nice too, but that was it. I don't know that I would recommend this book to anyone except maybe a Scotophile who will read any and everything that has to do with Scotland. Of course even they might not feel the book was worth the time.

I’ve only read three of her books so far but I am soooo in love with them! Shelly’s books are full of hot sex, lovable characters, and a funky sense of humor that could revival my own.WHENHEWASBAD I just finished The Mane Squeeze last night and I could NOT put it down! Touch of Crimson by Sylvia Day (COMING SOON)

crimson_217I'm on the shelf about this book. I'll be honest with ya, I had to apply my "20 page/2 Chapters" rule to this book. For those of ya'll who are scratching your heads going "What the hell is that?" I'll tell ya. I have a rule that I apply to all the books I read. If I can't get into the book or it doesn't catch my interest in the very beginning then I try to give it a fighting chance by reading the first 20 pages or the first 2 Chapters, which ever takes the longest. Anyways that's what I had to do with this book. After the first couple of chapters I finally started to get into it and I have to say that it is unlike any book I have ever read before. There are angels, vampires, and Lycans but that's not what I found to be unique about this book. It is the way that Sylvia Day has written this compelling story of good vs. evil, love and hate. Now I'm ready to read the next book in the series, so bring it on Miz Day! An exceptional, passion filled book that is well worth the read especially if you love paranormal but don't take my word for it check it out yourself cause as ya'll know My Opinion Might Not Be Yours.

Coming to shelves October 4, 2011

Jacob T. Marley by R. William Bennett

Everyone knows the classic tale, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. If you don’t, what rock have you been living under all these years?! A Christmas Carol for many of us is an age old tradition that we have enjoyed since we were children, a story that is brought out every year around the holidays to remind us all that we should be good people and treat others well. The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge is one we all know and love but what about his partner Marley? Have you ever wondered how he ended up in those chains? Why didn’t he have a story of redemption? Who’s idea was it for him to have that life altering visit with Scrooge? All these questions and more are answered in R. Williams Bennett’s book Jacob T. Marley. I really enjoyed this book, not as much as I did A Christmas Carol but then you can’t really beat a classic no matter how good you are. Anyways, I found this book to be a refreshing take on a classic tale. Jacob T. Marley reminds me a great deal of the book Wicked, not in the fact that they have anything in common but in the fact that they both go beyond the original. Its true there really is two sides to every story. A story for the ages this book isn’t about remorse and redemption like A Christmas Carl but a story about the power of our choices and the consequences that they have. I give it two thumbs up. My Opinion Might Not Be Yours but if you enjoy Dickens’ version you’re sure to enjoy Bennett’s.

I’m The Vampire, That’s Why! By Michele Bardsley

imthevampireI’ve found a new author and a new series to get lost in!! Yay me!! I just had to share this book with ya’ll! I discovered it last night while I was browsing a friend’s Shelfari shelf. The title really grabbed my attention and I couldn’t help but start reading it. It should of went to the bottom of my To Be Read pile but I just couldn’t resist cracking it open. Next thing I know a couple of hours had passed and I had finished the book! Bardsley’s characters were a laugh a minute and I can’t wait to start reading the next book in the series! The series is called Broken Heart Vampires and its as funny and goofy as the titles make it out to be. This is definitely what I consider to be a romantic comedy, heavy on the comedy please! Heart warming, funny, with a dash of sexual tension! I greatly enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor. My Opinion Might Not Be Yours…..hell let’s be honest my sense of humor probably isn’t either! Open-mouthed smileWinking smile
